Bush is running an ad featuring the Iraq and Afghanistan Olympic teams. The Iraqi soccer team -- one of the darlings of these games -- is not amused.
Sadir had a message for U.S. president George W. Bush, who is using the Iraqi Olympic team in his latest re-election campaign advertisements.
In those spots, the flags of Iraq and Afghanistan appear as a narrator says, "At this Olympics there will be two more free nations -- and two fewer terrorist regimes."
"Iraq as a team does not want Mr. Bush to use us for the presidential campaign," Sadir told SI.com through a translator, speaking calmly and directly. "He can find another way to advertise himself."
Ahmed Manajid, who played as a midfielder on Wednesday, had an even stronger response when asked about Bush's TV advertisement. "How will he meet his god having slaughtered so many men and women?" Manajid told me. "He has committed so many crimes."

SADAAM!!
SOME IN THE U.S, WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE AND COUNTRY THINK OF US!
THEY TAKE OUR AID AND TELL TO GO TO HELL!
GET A LIFE!
THANK YOU
EB
Yes, who cares what the Iraqi soccer team thinks? I mean, really... we didn't give a shit about the Iraqi people! Why else would we kill 10,000 of them? We just wanted their godamned oil! GET REAL!
Posted by: Ed's Horse at August 24, 2004 02:51 AMActually, they don't "TAKE OUR AID AND TELL TO GO TO HELL." We INVADE their country, kill many of them by "accident," and then offer them insufficient aid because we've gotten ourself into something too big to control. We should care about the Iraqi soccer team because they are a sign of a country trying to pull itself together after it's been raped by a Western superpower with a selfish, cowardly, misguided wretch for a President.
